We make these head sails in two standards:
Genoa's
Generally with more than 105% overlap
Jib's
Generally with less than 105% overlap. These Jibs are generally built from High Aspect Dacron with larger corner patching.
Note: Non overlapping Jibs can be produced with either horizontal or vertical leech battens for furling systems.
Furling Headsails can be equipped with: UV protection covers with a choice of premium colors (which you will find in our materials page), Luff Flattener to reduce the fore sail shape when used partially furled, reefing furling position markers to help you preset sheeting positions.
Our Premium Custom Cruise standard offer includes:
- Fully customized sail design to your boat, your rig setup and your sailing program. You can also supply your own sail design if you have a preferred sail designer you wish to work with.
- Multi-step seaming, using high tenacity bonded polyester sewing threads.
- Furling foil luff tape over a secondary Dacron tape reinforcement to reduce luff stretch from halyard over loading.
- Corner points equipped with Stainless steel Pressed Eyelets, webbed stainless steel welded rings, or extra strong webbing loops on Head and Tack points for furling Headsails.
- Draft stripes available in multiple colors, Tell-tails, furling position makers to help with presetting sheeting positions when sailing partially furled.
- Polyester Leech lines with metallic clam cleat, and Foot line where necessary.
- Large sized Heavy duty sail bag with your boat name and sail ID.
Customization Options
As the name "Premium Custom Cruise" indicates, there are several options available to fully customize your Headsail.
- UV Protection strips. We use woven acrylic materials for superior UV protection. Popular colors available (see further) Our UV protection strips are sewn with heavy denier Sun-Stop threads for superior UV resistance. There is also a choice of light weight, UV treated Dacron for light air sails.
- Reefs (in Jib's), chargeable as a percentage of base material cost. Many types of fittings and finishing available; multi-ton pressed stainless steel eyelets, webbed rings, webbing loops, low friction rings. (Fully customizable…)
- Radial corner patching.
- Partial or Full double ply construction for larger heavy-duty sails.
- Jib Batten pockets, horizontal or vertical.
- Hanks (bronze or soft webbing), Dyneema or wire luff cable for low stretch non-adjustable luffs.
- Vision Window.
- Tell tail windows.
- Cunningham.
- Sail numbers for overlapping Genoa's.
- Overhead Leech line system adjustable at the tack for high clewed Yankee sails.
- Dyneema reinforcement webbing on corner fittings.
- Leather hand finishing on corners.
- Heavy Duty Offshore Build (see details further).
- Jack-Line kits can be installed for Boomed Jibs.
